New Grand Update - APPEAL LETTER

The Pickford on Grand


Although Benjamin Franklin thought nothing was so certain as death and taxes, it looks like construction cost over-runs can be added to his short list. The Pickford board found out in September that despite rigorous budgeting and a successful capital campaign (thanks to you), our Pickford on Grand project will end up costing a million more than planned by the time we open in the Spring of next year.

 

We have no intention of pausing construction, so the Pickford board and staff have committed to borrowing additional funds, dipping deep into our reserves, and writing more grants.

 

We are also turning again to you, our community, to raise an additional $350,000.

 

We are asking you to help us keep this project moving forward and on time so the Pickford Film Center can deliver more films of all kinds next year. And who knows, giving might be fun, we an interesting incentive highlighted below.

 

We honor the place you have given the Pickford Film Center in this community. Onward to the opening!

We are thrilled to report that building permits for the Pickford on Grand have been submitted and are awaiting City approval — construction will get rolling shortly thereafter. We have a few more seat plaques available, but beyond that we have met our community giving goal!
