Teachers can’t afford to stay.” Such is the state of childcare in the United States. Burdened by the increasing costs of basic necessities, parents have little left in the bank account to pay for childcare. Meanwhile, it is nearly impossible for childcare workers to make a living wage. But they are not giving up. Driven by their love of children and the belief that affordable childcare for all is an attainable goal, these dedicated educators are organizing, crafting policy, and demanding change. They bring to the fight the same creativity and passion they bring to caring for children.
